It’s been almost six years since the release of Crystal Moselle’s breakout film The Wolfpack. The documentary followed the Angulo brothers who were raised in isolation in their New York City apartment and their extraordinary story of creativity and resilience.
The brothers were home-schooled and spent most of their time watching movies which they then re-enacted with homemade props and costumes.
The film showed them slowly gaining the confidence to venture outside and eventually attending Sundance and meeting celebrities like Tarantino and Sloth from The Goonies.
Since the film’s release the brothers have continued to pursue their love of film and creativity. Below we update you on where the Angulo brothers are now.
Bhim the oldest brother is now 27 years old. He continued to live in the family apartment after the film came out and helped his brothers start a production company called Wolfpack Productions. Bhim has also been working on his own short films and is passionate about music recently teaming up with producer AraabMuzik to create a track called “Angulo”.
Gustavo 25 also continued to live in the apartment after the film and help with the production company. He has since moved out on his own and is now attending community college and studying film. Gustavo has said that he’d like to eventually make his own feature film.
Raja 23 was the first to move out after the film came out and he now lives in Brooklyn. He’s currently working as a barista and taking acting classes. Raja has said that he’d like to pursue a career in acting or writing and that he’s open to anything that will let him tell stories.
Kuro 20 is the youngest of the brothers and is still living at home. He’s been working on his own photography and has exhibited his work in various galleries. Kuro has also been working on music and released an EP called “Svaha” in 2017.
As a whole the brothers have continued to pursue their love of film and creativity. They started a production company called Wolfpack Productions and have been making their own short films and music. They’ve also exhibited their photography in galleries and continue to take acting and writing classes.
It’s clear that the Angulo brothers are incredibly talented and driven and we can’t wait to see what they do next.
